Bernadette Janson

Founder of The School of Renovating and host of the She Renovates podcast

Bernadette Janson is an Australian renovator and educator who teaches women to renovate for profit. She has been renovating since she was 13 and has more than 30 years' experience renovating and teaching.

Her story

Bernadette started renovating as a teenager and never stopped. Over three decades she has bought, renovated, sold and held property, and taught hundreds of women to do the same.

At 55 she realised she had neglected her own financial wellbeing. That realisation shaped The School of Renovating: a place where women learn to make renovation pay, with honest numbers and real support.

[CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: two or three facts, e.g. first renovation, number of projects, awards]

The language she teaches

Freedom Number
The income or profit you need to fund the life you want.
Feaso
Short for feasibility study: the numbers you run before you buy or renovate.
Cosmetic Plus
The level of renovation she teaches: cosmetic work that adds real value, chosen for the best balance of profit and risk.
Hopium
Delusional optimism about a deal. The thing a Feaso protects you from.
